Dear Necessities. . .
While I am here in the hospital, two days after having a mastectomy, I am coming to realize just how blessed I am for having silent partners in the background like you and the wonderful women and friends caring for my peace and well being. Your gift of this wonderful tote bag filled with the essentials is so unique and comforting. Every little thing inside is a joy. And the pillows are just beautiful. Thank you so much for caring and looking ahead for women like me who are entering the unknown.
I received the Necessities Bag from my surgeon. How wonderful it was to not only have a booklet to describe what I would be facing, but also have the necessary things that would be useful at a difficult time in my life. The pillow to protect my chest area from the car seatbelt was so clever. I applaud your organization and I thank you.
The Necessities Bag was a lifesaver. You really thought of everything. I still sleep with the little pillows under my arms. I feel so lucky to be the recipient of this special gift.
I wasn't prepared for what would happen after. Receiving the bag made my surgery experience less frightening. I thank God for people like you.
The pillows in my Necessities Bag smell so good like a huge hug from Grandma. This is a fantastic service you are providing.
My trip to the hospital included my Necessities Bag. After my surgery, it was put into action. I had read the information booklet and brought it with me also. The water bottle was filled, tissues, lip balm, Lifesavers were put nearby. I used practically everything between hospital and home. The cotton undershirts were, and are, the biggest boon. Only someone who had been there would have thought of them.
It is one week after my double mastectomy and second round with breast cancer. The Necessities Bag was "perfect." Even after going though a lumpectomy two years ago, I had no idea what to expect. I used everything in the bag and felt more prepared going to the hospital. It made me feel a bit more in control. Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful idea and acting on it.
I was touched to have someone I didn't know send me a bag full of well thought-out items. I had my mastectomy only three days ago and everything is still fresh in my mind; the hospital room, the pain, the sense of loss, the tears, but also all of the love and care from our community. I am struck by the support of people I barely know who are part of a wider breast cancer community. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you so much for creating the Necessities Bag. It truly was a big help. I would have to say that the ribbon for showering and the t-shirts were, and still are, my biggest help. When I received the bag from my doctor, I couldn't wait to go through it. I had everything set up in my bathroom for my return home. The small bag for the hospital was "right on," especially the water bottle. To pour a glass of water from a pitcher would have been impossible. The life savers were great for my parched throat after surgery. Again, I thank you for your wonderful bag. Necessity is certainly the mother of invention. Every item in the bag is just so perfect to attend to one's needs after surgery. Thank you all of your hard work and effort to put these together.
I have to send heartfelt thanks to you for the Nesessities Bag. After my sister's surgery, I gave her a lifesaver, tucked the little pillow under her arm, put lip balm on her lips, and place the water bottle within reach. The bag sure made life easier. Kudos to you for such a thoughtful, helpful, complete bag of necessities.
I appreciate the time and effort you gave putting together the "goodie bag." Having the bag and knowing what to expect and what I will need is something I can't thank you enough for. Your pamphlet is a wealth of information. I am truly blessed that a stranger reached out to me as a friend. Thank you for making these dark days a little brighter.
What a wonderful gift! The Necessities Bag provided such comfort during a scary time. It's very evident that a lot of thought went into its contents from people who really care. I consider you angels and your work priceless.
I am grateful for your great deed. Everything was perfect and it helped me so much when I got home. I want to help you when I am feeling better and over this hump. You and your big heart are a blessing.
I felt more prepared because I had read your personal information. I kept the little bag with the lip balm by my bed in the hospital and at home. The cotton undershirts became my saving grace. I am still wearing them now during my reconstruction. Thank you for helping a sister in need. |
